Study reveals nonsurgical rhinoplasty matches surgical results

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty using hyaluronic acid-based filler injections has emerged as a potentially viable alternative to surgical rhinoplasty, according to a recent study. Reportedly, the study conducted by Kalpna K Durairaj, MD, and colleagues at Huntington Hospital has revealed that patients who underwent this minimally invasive procedure reported minimal discomfort and high levels of satisfaction. Among the key findings, 89 per cent of patients experienced low levels of pain during the procedure, with none reporting extreme discomfort. Postoperatively, patients reported a significant improvement in the overall appearance of their noses, with median satisfaction scores rising from 4 to 9 on a scale of 0 to 10. Moreover, patients expressed satisfaction with specific aspects of their nose, including the nasal bridge, tip, and profile appearance, following the injection rhinoplasty treatment. Although minor adverse events such as bruising, swelling, tenderness, and asymmetry were reported, they were generally well tolerated.

In short, the study concluded that nonsurgical rhinoplasty using fillers offers a viable substitute for surgical rhinoplasty that is devoid of delay, less invasive, and more cost-effective. Moreover, it suggests that the procedure can achieve comparable satisfaction levels to surgical rhinoplasty. It could be an attractive option for individuals looking to enhance the appearance of their nose without the inconvenience and expense associated with traditional surgical procedures.

Recent study: Chemical peels, botulinum toxin combo proved effective

Recent studies have indicated that the combination of chemical peels and botulinum toxin can significantly improve the appearance of one’s skin. The research involved 24 participants, and the majority of them reported a 60 per cent improvement in wrinkle severity, 59 per cent in pigmentation, and 70 per cent in tonality. Participants also expressed their satisfaction with the enhanced appearance of their skin, and 96 per cent of them were willing to undergo the treatment again. The combined therapy was found to be both safe and effective, with no adverse effects observed throughout the study period. One of the key reasons behind the treatment’s success is the preparatory benefits of VI Peel, which is used as a part of the regimen in combination with botulinum toxin. The synergistic effect of these two treatments has been found to deliver long-lasting results, ensuring consumer satisfaction and safety in cosmetic dermatology.
