EDITOR’S NOTE

What we absolutely not hold tolerance for are patches or marks taking over our skin, and even worse if it’s on the face. In your aesthetic practice, I am certain you would have come across patients conditioned to hyperpigmentation. Several consultations would be of patches such as acne scars, sunspots, and big brown patches, where patients are unaware about these being signs of hyperpigmentation on the skin. Then comes the twirl of consultation, determining the treatment, convincing the patient on the best approach, use of combination treatments and a lot more.

In this edition of Aesthetic Medicine India, we bring you some interesting insights and case studies from doctors on Melasma and Hyperpigmentation. Know all about hyperpigmentation (pg 20), treating melasma with energy-based devices and lasers (pg 22), challenging case studies (pg 30), and treating hyperpigmentation beyond medicines (pg 36).

This edition will also offer some unique read about permanent makeup courses (pg 42), dermatologists making the right product choices (pg 44), hair removal for transgender patients (pg 46), the benefits of going paperless in your clinic (pg 52), and much more…

In the next edition, we will focus on aesthetics for men and all that’s trending. Do write in to me at shriyal.s@ideas-exchange.in if you would like to share your case studies for the same.

Wishing you a happy read!
