Mary Kay Inc announces grants for researchers conducting studies in skin health and skin disease
Mary Kay Inc, a global leader in skin care innovation, is excited to announce its first-ever grants for researchers conducting groundbreaking, innovative studies in skin health and skin disease. The company also continued its ongoing support of the beauty and scientific communities recently by sponsoring the virtual 2021 Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) Annual Meeting, helping fund the society’s virtual meeting platform. Mary Kay will be awarding four US$ 25,000 grants to researchers and the last day for candidates to apply for the same is August 31, 2021. The winners of the Mary Kay grants will be announced at the SID annual meeting in 2022. Through the funds, Mary Kay hopes to empower researchers to uncover new perspectives and intervention strategies in the science of dermatology.
UK termed as most body positive country in the world
As per the market study by Reebok, UK is the most ‘body positive’ country in the world, with the highest media coverage on body confidence and inclusivity. UK’s number of monthly Google searches for body inclusive terms is 67,700, with the number of news articles on body inclusivity in the past year hitting 4,245, making it the most body inclusive country in the world. This has been followed by the USA in the second place, Ireland third, Australia fourth and Canada fifth. The UK is also known to have the most inclusive fitness influencers, with 8.37 per cent of posts from these people highlighting body positivity, followed closely by France, Netherlands, Spain, and Germany. There are more than 14.5 million posts promoting the “body positive” hashtag on Instagram, the study states. Compared to France and the Netherlands, the UK is ahead in representing plus-size consumers too as the focus for body inclusivity in these countries are significantly lower, the report found.
