Delhi’s RML Hospital achieves 24-hour surgical triumph with 24 plastic surgeries

On World Plastic Surgery Day, Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital achieved a remarkable milestone by completing 24 plastic surgeries within 24 hours. Such accomplishment highlights the hospital’s dedication to providing high-quality surgical care. To maximise patient outcomes, the “Plastic Surgery OT Marathon” carefully combined urgent and scheduled surgeries. Head of the Media Cell at RML Hospital, Dr Pulin Kumar Gupta, acknowledged that the main goal was to provide excellent medical services and care.

Dr Sameek Bhattacharya, Director Professor of Burns, Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Microvascular Surgery, led an integrated team effort that made the marathon a success. Dr Neerja Banerjee and Dr Rupesh also contributed considerably, and the team of 17 surgeons, alongside nursing and administrative staff, executed a range of complex procedures with precision.

From pediatric to adult cases, the surgeries included Bardach’s palatal repair and lymphangioma excision, demonstrating RML Hospital’s proficiency across diverse plastic and reconstructive needs. As India becomes known for its high-quality, affordable plastic surgery, RML Hospital continues to set new standards in the field, solidifying its position as a top medical institution.
