Levram’s Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a fibrin matrix in which platelet cytokines, growth factors and cells are trapped and released after a certain time, serving as a resorbable membrane. PRF is used in wound healing and healing sutures. It is also used as natural filler and reduces scar formation, skin rejuvenation, skin tightening and brightening and maxillofacial surgeries among others.The saturation of the wound with PRF helps increase tissue synthesis due to its growth factors, and this in turn results in faster tissue regeneration. Increased healing time reduces the risk of later infections, complications and discomfort. Furthermore, since the blood is harvested from the patient’s own blood supply, disease transmission is a non-issue. The amount of blood needed is small and can be collected during a routine outpatient procedure.
