In what has transpired to be an absolutely informative and in-depth knowledge sharing, the Let’s Talk series – in complete success – has made inroads virtually Reaching out to aesthetic medicine practitioners’ pan-India, the virtual series of webinars – The Let’s Talk Series – is being organised by Aesthetic Medicine India and Powered by Galderma.

Launched in the year 2021 as a series of episodes, each of which brings two dermatologists on the virtual panel live and the focus is on a treatment indication and related challenging cases along with their (dermatologists) approach towards treating the same.

Classically, each episode starts with a presentation on the subject matter, setting the perfect tone for the discussion. This is then followed by both doctors discussing challenging cases that they have dealt with, and further understanding if the case could have been approached differently as well. The panel then discusses the treatment much more in detail, how do they determine the apt patient, and if required, in what combination of treatments do they achieve the desired results. In all success, the dermatologist attending the live session also have their best opportunity to type their queries in the Q&A box, which is then taken up by the subject matter experts for further discussion.

Each episode is live on Zoom for a duration of 60 minutes. Here’s a glimpse of the episodes that have been organised in recent times, with many more to come. This plus, a detailed story on each of these are to be featured in the forthcoming editions of the Aesthetic Medicine India magazine.

EPISODE 1:

Personalisation with Restylane Defyne

The expert on the panel for this episode included Dr Narmada Matang, Dermatologist, Neo Skin Aesthetics, Mumbai, and Dr Divita Bhuraria, Consultant Dermatologist, Bethany Hospital, and Disha Skin & laser Centre, Thane.

Speaking from their experience, the doctors discussed patient awareness in terms of knowledge, myth and feature when it comes to fillers. They also delved into patient management and their experience with Restylane Defyne. The discussion further details how frequently the doctors on the panel combine Restylane Defyne with other fillers – if in the same sitting or sequentially for two to four weeks. This plus, the discussion involves how they plan follow-ups for the patients, make a choice between the cannula and needle, and the session concluded with an advice for the beginners specialising in this area of treatment.

EPISODE 2: Lip Fillers

Dr Apratim Goel, Medical Director & Founder, Cutis Skin Solution, Mumbai, and Dr Akanksha Singh Cornuit, Founder, PromMed Aesthetics, Bengaluru, were the experts on the panel for this episode.

In absolute enthusiasm and a free-flowing conversation with experience being the king, this session discussed trends around lip fillers and how these have evolved over the years. The doctors further elaborated on the difference in practice across India in different regions with Dr Apratim elaborating on her cases in Mumbai and Dr Akanksha discussing her cases in Bengaluru. They also elaborated on why lip fillers is their favourite, as the conversation continued with them sharing insights on cleft lips and dry lips. What’s more, the session also included the doctors discussing related complications and dissolving with hylase.

EPISODE 3 on Achieving Radiant Skin with the Original Skin Boosters

The subject matter experts who led this episode were Dr Manu Agarwal, Medical Director, SALT (Skin, Hair & Laser Clinic), Delhi, and Dr Naveen Atluru, Co-founder and Senior Consultant, Nava Skin and Body, Hyderabad.

In an interesting discussion that focused on skinboosters for face, décolletage, and hands, the doctors showcased challenging cases pertinent to their patients and how they have approached the same. While they responded to questions from the attendees, the expert panel also elaborated on patient concerns (the glow, fine lines, hydration, etc), and their approach towards patients for an injectable treatment over the topicals or laser peels. The doctors also discussed how they combined skinboosters with botulinum toxins, and the various indicators that they look for skin boosters (acne scars, pigmented skin, etc).
