TIME FOR MORE SHOTS!

Good start: as per the Health Ministry’s provisional report, a total of 5.69 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given till March 26. Bad news: the sudden surge in COVID cases – what is being referred to as the second wave – across several states! Temporary lockdowns and night curfews are making headlines once again. Evidently, social distancing and safety precautions continue to be the need of the hour and in the months to come.

In this journey of survival where businesses have been impacted and industry growths affected, there has been a silver lining in the aesthetic community. We have known about new clinics being launched in several cities. Definitely, dermatologists have been on an expansion spree! In my interaction with some aesthetic medicine practitioners, they confirmed a busy line up of appointments and this spells good news for the community.

Injectable, one of the most affected treatments (in terms of demand) during the pandemic, is now gaining traction, and this edition explores the related popular trends in 2021-22 (pg: 14); botulinum toxin in different genders (pg 22); read for debates on fillers (pg 25-27); and much more. This informative edition also focuses on dermal threads (pg 30)and nose threads (pg 34), and some interesting opinions and case studies on permanent makeup (pg 38)and PRP vs mesotherapy for hair loss (pg 47)along with some global insights.
